Red Bull looking to hit back in Singapore

Red Bull Racing is looking to cement its lead in the constructors' championship with a strong performance in Singapore this weekend after suffering its first double non-score since Korea 2010 in the Italian GP.

"We've had some good results in Singapore," Mark Webber says. "It's a very, very challenging circuit and one that our car should work well on. We've been solid on street circuits this year, so that gives us confidence that the car will be towards the sharp end again."

The team acknowledged in Monza that it needs to qualify better -- a strong suit for Red Bull in recent seasons. Last year, the team took pole position at every race bar one, with Sebastian Vettel beating Nigel Mansell's record of 14 pole positions in one season.

Vettel too, is anxious to close the gap on Fernando Alonso, always a strong Singapore performer, in the bid to get his quest for a hat-trick of world titles back on track.

"Singapore is one of the highlights of the calendar," the reigning champion says. "The atmosphere of a night race is really amazing and the track is also really great to race on -- which is partly to do with the fact that we race anti-clockwise.

"We all stay on European time for the weekend and because the race doesn't start until 8pm, most of the drivers tend to get up at around 2pm -- it's pretty unusual!"
