Mercedes GP today hit the track for the first time with it's new chassis for 2010, the MGP W01, at the Valencia circuit in the first official Formula One test. Even though the (former Brawn) team won the World Championship last season, the car appears to be heavily influenced by last year's Red Bull.

The new car features a higher, narrower nose, and fins at the top of the nosecone section. The sidepods are similar to last season, and the car has an original engine cover design.

Nico Rosberg was the first to drive the car, and Michael Schumacher is scheduled to take over later in the afternoon.
