Mark Webber's Hockenheim challenge hit by gearbox penalty

Mark Webber is the third potential winning driver to be hit by a five place penalty on the German GP grid after needing a gearbox change. The F1 regulations require a gearbox to do five consecutive events, with Hockenheim being round 10, the halfway point in the season.

Mark Webber is the third potential winning driver to be hit by a five place penalty on the German GP grid after needing a gearbox change, joining Romain Grosjean and Nico Rosberg.

The F1 regulations require a gearbox to do five consecutive events, with Hockenheim being round 10, the halfway point in the season.

After his second win of the year at Silverstone, Webber comes into the race with 116 points, 13 behind championship leader Fernando Alonso, the season's only other double winner to date.
