Legge lands Champ Car drive

Briton's Katherine Legge will become the fourth female driver in Champ Car history later today when the PKV Racing team announces its plans for 2006 at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles.

Briton's Katherine Legge will become the fourth female driver in Champ Car history later today when the PKV Racing team announces its plans for 2006 at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles. The 25-year-old British driver has been testing for the team this winter and it is hoped that she will rise to the challenge and become a Champ Car frontrunner in the course of the next year, something which would help to negate the Danica Patrick effect which the rival Indy Racing League has enjoyed in the last 12 months. Danica will continue to race in IRL and hopes to become a race winner this season with Rahal Letterman Racing.
