Gurdjian gets a new job

Philippe Gurdjian spends his life fixing Formula 1 problems. Over the years he has sorted out problems at a strong of different venues, making sure that they are ready for F1 to arrive. The Executive Affairs Authority of Abu Dhabi has now announced that it is setting up a company called Abu Dhabi Motor Sport Management (ADMM) to develop and manage the new circuit which is under construction at Yas Marina, this will be ready in time for the 2009 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The new firm will be headed by Gurdjian.

The creation of ADMM and Gurdjian's appointment as CEO formalises operational and day-to-day management structures for the event.

"It was critical to find the right person for this job because Yas Marina Circuit is about more than just creating one of the most advanced F1 tracks on the motor racing circuit," said Khaldoon Al Mubarak, the chairman of both the Executive Affairs Authority and of ADMM. "It is also about building a global centre for motor sport in the region, as well as a hub for automotive technology research and development."
