Timo Glock is recovering in a Swiss hospital after surgery for acute appendicitis.

Glock went to hospital after being taken ill on Sunday evening and although he had successful keyhole surgery for the condition, his participation in next week's final pre-season Barcelona test must now be in doubt. There is believed to be no danger of him missing the Melbourne season-opener, however.

"Timo is recovering well in hospital," said Virgin Racing team principal John Booth, "but it's likely that he will miss the test and and that Jerome will run on all four days instead."
