Glock keeps F1 dream alive

Timo Glock has given up a promising career in American racing because he wants to be a Formula 1 star. The 23-year-old German, who raced for Jordan in 2004, spent 2005 in Champ Car racing and impressed many but he decided to head back to Europe this year to race in GP2 with BCN Competicion.

Glock argues that winning in Champ Car has not been enough to get an F1 drive for Sebastien Bourdais while GP2 stars Nico Rosberg, Heikki Kovalainen, Scott Speed and Neel Jani have all ended up either racing or testing in F1.

"This looks like a better way for me to reach my Formula 1 goal,'' he says.
