Fiat moves on Chrysler?

Ferrari's parent company Fiat is tipped to take control of the troubled US car company Chrysler.

Ferrari's parent company Fiat is tipped to take control of the troubled US car company Chrysler. The Italian firm is suffering as a result of the economic downturn and last week its share price dropped to the lowest level for 15 years, but it wants to power its way out of the recession by increasing its market share in the United States. The deal would result in Chrysler using Fiat vehicle platforms for a range of new cars and using at least one Chrysler factory to build Alfa Romeo and Fiat products for the US market. Fiat is betting that Americans will warm to smaller cars, such as the Fiat 500, in the future.
