FIA seeks ECU bidders

The FIA says its is seeking "expressions of interest from potential suppliers of electronic systems and component suppliers with a view to supplying all Formula 1 teams with a standard electronic control system and technical support for racing and testing" in 2008.

The FIA says its is seeking expressions of interest from potential suppliers of electronic systems and component suppliers with a view to supplying all Formula 1 teams with a standard electronic control system and technical support for racing and testing in 2008. The federation listed a number of requirements for systems. Those who register their interest before March 31 will be invoted to make formal bids at a later date.

It remains to be seen whether or not a common ECU will be accepted by the teams.
