Lewis Hamilton, the seven-time Formula One world champion, is set to make a sensational switch from Mercedes to Ferrari in 2025. This move is a significant shift in Hamilton's career, considering he has raced for Mercedes since the 2013 season and won six of his seven world titles with them. His decision to join Ferrari comes after a couple of challenging seasons for Mercedes, who have struggled to keep up with the competition in Formula One's latest ground effect era.

Hamilton will be replacing Carlos Sainz as teammate to Charles Leclerc at Ferrari. The changeover will happen at the end of the 2024 season, with Hamilton activating a release option in his contract with Mercedes. This major move in the Formula One driver market is expected to have a substantial impact on both teams and the sport as a whole. Hamilton's successful tenure at Mercedes will be remembered as one of the most successful team-driver partnerships in F1 history, and his move to Ferrari marks a new chapter in an already illustrious career.

Ferrari’s release said, "Scuderia Ferrari is pleased to announce that Lewis Hamilton will be joining the team in 2025, on a multi-year contract.”
