Didier Coton has joined Lewis Hamilton's management team run by Simon Fuller's XIX Entertainment group.

Coton has huge F1 experience, previously working with Keke Rosberg and managing 1988-9 world champion Mika Hakkinen. He then oversaw the latter years of Olivier Panis's F1 career. He has deep roots with the McLaren team through those associations.

Hamilton's father Anthony was among those who questioned whether it was right that Lewis was often on his own in the F1 paddock at a time when he had both personal and professional pressures. Team mate Jenson Button, meanwhile, seemed to thrive in the team, surrounded by a close, relaxed coterie that included father John, girlfriend Jessica, manager Richard Goddard and physio Mike Collier.
