LUCIANO BURTI, runner-up in the British Formula 3 Championship, will be nominated as Jaguar Racing's test driver this week. He will support the efforts of Eddie Irvine and Johnny Herbert next year. Burti has already completed a series of tests for the Stewart Grand Prix team, the first being at the end of last year. The Brazilian driver has been competing with PaulÊStewart Racing in the British Formula 3 Championship for the last two seasons, finishing third in the series in 1998 and second this year. Burti has been racing in Europe since the start of 1996 when he took part in the Formula Vauxhall Junior Championship with Martin Donnelly Racing. He switched to PSR at the end of that season and has been the team ever since, winning the 1997 Formula Vauxhall title before moving up to Formula 3.
