Australians in London

Bernie Ecclestone and Melbourne Grand Prix boss Ron Walker are big mates and whenever Bernie has a new street venue up his sleeve, he tends to give Ron a call and then the Australian sends out a group of his people from Melbourne to look over the venue and see if there is something that can be done. The same pattern has been followed on several occasions notably with the Chinese projects at Zhuhai and Wuhan, a track in South Africa and a street circuit in Moscow. There are probably others but not all of them have come to light. It seems that the Australians have recently sent a group over to London to take a look at Central London to see if there is any potential for a race in the West End. Obviously, London's Mayor Ken Livingstone is deadly serious about having a Grand Prix in a couple of years time.
