GIANNI AGNELLI, the man who controls Ferrari, fell and fractured his left thigh last week at his home near Turin. The 76-year-old honorary chairman of Fiat - Ferrari's parent company - was taken to the hospital and later had surgery but is now on his way to recovery.

Agnelli has a long history of leg injuries dating back to the Second World War. Ten years ago he broke his right thigh in another fall at the house.
