Zonta handed tough Jordan testing schedule

BRAZILIAN Ricardo Zonta has been handed a tough schedule in December as he begins his new role as official test driver with Jordan.

Zonta, who will make his and the Silverstone-based team's debut with Honda powered engines at Jerez on December 5, will provide added assistance to Jordan after driving for two years with Honda-powered British American Racing.

The 24-year-old will begin his Jordan career alone but will be joined by Italian Jarno Trulli for the remaining two days of the three-day test at the Spanish circuit.

And Zonta will be joined German Heinz-Harald Frentzen one week later when the team move onto Valencia as they step up their preparations for the 2001 season in another three-day test.

Trulli and Frentzen will be in tandem for the team's final test of the year when they put the car through its paces at Barcelona.
