Zanardi to get artificial legs shortly

Alex Zanardi has been in a wheelchair since he left hospital in Berlin but the Italian former F1 driver is now looking forward to being fitted with artificial legs so that he begin the process of learning how to walk again.

ALEX ZANARDI has been in a wheelchair since he left hospital in Berlin but the Italian former F1 driver is now looking forward to being fitted with artificial legs so that he begin the process of learning how to walk again. Zanardi has already learned how to drive a car with hand controls and is driving backwards and forwards between his homes in Monaco and in Bologna. Zanardi is now waiting for his legs to find a definitive shape so that he can be fitted with the necessary prosthetic legs.

Zanardi says that adapting to his new life is a full time job but he is looking forward to getting new legs.
