If you fancy having a ride around the Magny-Cours circuit in a Ferrari or Maserati driven by Michael Schumacher or Rubens Barrichello, the opportunity now exists. The Federation Francaise du Sport Automobile (FFSA) has announced a scheme to use the French Grand Prix to support the Institute for Brain and Spinal Cord Disorders (ICM) in France, a project which is supported by Ferrari boss Jean Todt and Michael Schumacher.
The FFSA will be organise a raffle at Magny-Cours for spectators with one of the prizes being the Ferrari run.
The idea came from FFSA boss Jacques Regis but has the support of not only Todt and Schumacher but also F1 boss Bernie Ecclestone.
"It is wonderful that everyone is making a big effort for this. It is a good thing for humanity." said Ecclestone. "I hope that Jean puts in more time than the others and spends less time at Ferrari."
The ICM is aiming to raise a total of $85m to set up a research facility to the east of Paris.
The project has the support of a number of prominent Frenchmen, including film maker Luc Besson.
