Wilson wins in Toronto

Justin Wilson won his first victory in Champ Car in Toronto, beating Newman Haas Racing's Oriol Serviia in the closing stages of the race. The race ended under a Safety Car after Wilson's RuSport team mate AJ Allmendinger crashed as he tried to challenge Servia for second.

The race ended under a Safety Car after Wilson's RuSport team mate AJ Allmendinger crashed as he tried to challenge Servia for second. As a result third place went to Alex Tagliani (Team Australia Racing) ahead of Jimmy Vasser (PKV Racing) and Sebastian Bourdais (Newman Haas) who was delayed after a collision with Paul Tracy. Bourdais moves back into the lead in the championship.

The Rocketsports Racing duo of Ryan Hunter-Reay and Timo Glock finished sixth and seventh.
