Frank Williams has said that he would consider selling a stake of his Formula One team to engine partner BMW in the future, should the offer arise.

Frank Williams has said that he would consider selling a stake of his Formula One team to engine partner BMW in the future, should the offer arise.

In the past Williams has insisted that he would never sell a stake in his team to a major manufacturer. But he now appears to have changed his mind and said: "I wouldn't rule it out."

"At the moment I'm happy with the way things are, but I'd never use the word 'never'. That would be foolish."

If Williams were to sell a stake to BMW it would follow along the same road of another German manufacturer Mercedes, who now own a share in McLaren.
