We'll see progress this year - Frentzen

GERMAN Heinz-Harald Frentzen is convinced that Jordan will regain the 'best of the rest' spot in third position this year and has backed his boss to take the team to the top of Formula One.

Frentzen and team-mate Jarno Trulli failed to live up to their pre-season billing last year, but the former Williams driver believes Eddie Jordan's work in the background has put the team in the perfect position to become future world champions.

"People have got it all wrong about Eddie," Frentzen said in the British newspaper THE SUNDAY MIRROR. "He is serious about his work - and I have no doubts he is a winner.

"Sure, he likes fun, but at the right time. He is not just a joker. He wants to do the job properly and lets you know if you are not doing it as you should.

"Eddie doesn't need the technical ability to design a fast Formula One car, just as Frank (Williams) and Ron (Dennis) don't have that ability. That isn't his role."

And Frentzen said he feels Jordan has put together the necessary ingredients to bring a world championship to the team's Silverstone headquarters.

"The important thing for any team is to get the right people together and Eddie is working to do that," he added. "I am sure we will progress this year."
