BENETTON's Mark Webber claimed the fastest time in the final day's testing at the Circuit de Catalunya in Spain on Friday as he and Mark Gene, with Williams, undertook some wet weather work.

The track was artificially soaked for heavy wet conditions in the morning and left to dry to allow the two teams to test intermediates in the afternoon sessions.

"I thought today's logistics were remarkable," said Gene. "It is not easy to create the conditions for a proper wet test in Spain in July.

"Overall we have had a good week and I'd hope some improvements will show on the car as soon as Silverstone."
