Jacques Villeneuve has admitted that he is unlikely to return to Formula 1 and does not want to race in anything other than what he calls a top car. Villeneuve said that he did get an offer from BAR but he described it as insulting because there was no salary involved.

Villeneuve's comments reveal a feeling of bitterness towards his former team, although he seems to have forgotten that in his years with BAR he made a huge fortune and he will never need to work for the rest of his days.
