Jos Verstappen has made his thoughts known about his future with Minardi - which should be confirmed at the United States Grand Prix at Indianapolis. It is fairly clear now that the team will be using Cosworth engines next year as a Ferrari engine deal is too expensive for the team to consider.

"Look at what Arrows achieved with the Cosworth engine," Verstappen said on his personal website. "Admittedly, the chassis will have to be adjusted to the new engine and more horsepower affects the whole aerodynamic package, the gearbox and the suspension but Minardi has a good chassis."

Verstappen said that he has spoken to his old engineer Greg Wheeler about the car and Jos says that "he is very positive" and he believes that with Cosworth V10 engines Minardi could spring a few surprises in 2003 - just as Arrows did this year.
