ARROWS driver Jos Verstappen has been given a $15,000 fine by the stewards of the Brazilian Grand Prix following his dramatic crash with Juan Pablo Montoya on lap 39 of the race.

The fine ended all arguments as the stewards laid full blame for the incident, which put Verstappen and race leader Juan Pablo Montoya out of the race, firmly on the Dutchman's shoulders.

McLaren's Mika Hakkinen was also out of pocket after stalling his McLaren on the grid and leaving the car without replacing the steering wheel.

The Finnish driver was fined $5,000 after an incident he described as "one of the scariest moments of my career."
