TWR Arrows revamp for Germany

YOU may not recognize the Arrows team at the European Grand Prix. The cars, transporters and motorhomes will all sport a bold new color scheme and the team will be decked out in new uniforms.

The changes follow the takeover of the team by Tom Walkinshaw's TWR Group. There is expected to be a considerable increase in Power Horse signage on the car. The Austrian high-energy drinks company - direct competition to Sauber's RedÊBull - is expected to make a major announcement at the Nurburgring, and so we can expect to see a great deal of the Power Horse red and silver on the Arrows. Power Horse, incidentally, has decided to make a big splash in motor racing. Not only does it sponsor the World Superbike Championship, it also backs the TWR Formula 3 team and will have a corner named after it at the revamped Osterreichring, which will open later this summer. Parmalat is also expected to be given considerable space on the car, while Philips and the other sponsors are expected to reduce considerably.

The Arrows race engineering staff will remain unchanged with Jos Verstappen being engineered by Allan McDonald, and Ricardo Rosset being looked after by Rod Nelson. They will be joined, however, by the new Technical Director Frank Dernie and other TWR engineers. Tony Dowe moves in to be Operations Director of TWR Arrows although Arrows's Allan Harrison remains team manager.
