Toyota tests in Britain
TOYOTA's developing Formula 1 program made its first appearance on British soil when it arrived for an exclusive test at Silverstone on Tuesday.
Scotland's reigning ALMS sportscar champion Allan McNish, the former McLaren Honda test driver of a decade ago, set the pace - albeit some 11 seconds off the pole position pace from last month's British Grand Prix.
McNish set a time of 1m31.640s, some 0.270s quicker than Salo to open the account in the German-based team's three day test, while the rest of the Formula 1 fraternity goes through the testing ban as part of its enforced 'August holiday'.
