TOYOTA MOTORSPORT president Ove Andersson wants this year's test-drivers Allan McNish and Mika Salo to spearhead the team's challenge when they enter Formula One in 2002.

Briton McNish and Finn Salo will embark on a year of testing for the team after helping launch Toyota's new car at the Paul Ricard circuit on Friday.

When asked who he would like to drive his cars when the team enter Formula One for real in 2002, Andersson backed his current two drivers.

Andersson said: "I would like to stick with the same two drivers for 2002."

Andersson also said that Salo will test one car at the Paul Ricard circuit throughout the year, while McNish is expected to start testing at other European circuits from around July.
