THE Toyota Formula 1 team finished its three-day test in Malaysia on Monday night having completed a total of more than 150 laps of the track. The test featured both Mika Salo and Allan McNish but flew in the face of the agreement between the F1 teams not to conduct testing outside Europe. Toyota says that it is not bound by any agreements until the entries for the 2002 World Championship have been made on November 15. The rival F1 teams appear to have accepted that Toyota can do as it pleases. Toyota is now planning to go to test at Suzuka in the week after the Japanese GP when all the other F1 teams have agreed not to test.
