Toro Rosso to have interim livery at first test

Toro Rosso will begin pre-season testing next week with an interim livery.

Toro Rosso will begin pre-season testing next week with an interim livery.

Last Friday, we reported Italian rumours that although the Faenza team is otherwise on schedule following the late switch to Ferrari power, Toro Rosso has run out of time to deck out its new STR11 in full race livery for Barcelona.

An official reveal will therefore take place only on February 29, the day before the start of the final Barcelona test.

Max Verstappen's official website, verstappen.nl, reports that the colour of the interim Toro Rosso livery for the first test in Spain will be blue.

Teammate Carlos Sainz will be at the wheel on the opening day.

Verstappen, who will get his first taste of the car the following day, had a seat fitting last week.

"I am ready for the new season, which will be very interesting," he said. "Hopefully we are able to score many points. I am very much looking forward to my second campaign in formula one."
