Lando Norris, third

Lando had his best season since his Formula 1 debut, won his first three Grand Prix and was the only one to keep the title battle alive against Verstappen, thanks to a great string of results between the Miami and the Singapore Grand Prix, where he dominated in a way no one else did the whole year.

His qualifying performances were, on most occasions, outstanding, and Norris was, clearly, the fastest and most efficient of the two McLaren drivers, being the biggest contributor for the team’s first Constructors’ Championship since 1998. However, it took him all the way to the Mexican Grand Prix to learn how to best deal with Verstappen’s intimidation tactics and lost a lot of points on the way.
Still, proved to have what it takes to be a regular Grand Prix winner but needs to find a bit more aggression in himself to be a serious title contender.
