Yuki Tsunoda, tenth

Tsunoda drove at his best ever level the whole year and was clearly his team’s fastest and most efficient driver. Effectively led Ricciardo into early retirement, before beating Lawson 6-0 in qualifying and scored eight points to the Kiwi’s four. Punched above his and the team’s weight in Melbourne, Miami and Brazil, for example, and it was thanks to his consistency the Italian team was in the battle for P6 until the penultimate round of the season. Deserves way more credit than Red Bull will ever give him but will have to do it all over again next year against another highly rated rookie – France’s Isack Hadjar.
