The French Grand Prix will not be taking place in 2004. The local council of Nevers met on Friday afternoon to try to find a solution to the problem.

The French Grand Prix will not be taking place in 2004. The local council of Nevers met on Friday afternoon to try to find a solution to the problem but concluded that there was no solution possible and after the meeting the local regional chief Marcel Charmant told local pressmen that the race will be withdrawn from the World Championship. This opens the way for the British GP to move from July 4 to its traditional July 11 date.
