Testing round-up
Frenchman Olivier Panis topped the times for the second successive day in testing at Mugello, Italy.
The McLaren test driver produced a fastest lap time of one minute and 24.798 seconds as he outpaced world championship challenger Michael Schumacher's Ferrari.
Sauber debutant Kimi Raikkonen continued to test for the Swiss-based team alone after Brazilian Pedro Diniz, who injured his hand during testing on Tuesday, opted not to drive.
Meanwhile, Mark Webber came out on top in the battle of the test drivers at Estoril, where Benetton and BMW-Williams were testing.
The Australian, working with Benetton, was quicker than his Formula 3000 counterpart Bruno Junqueira at the Portuguese circuit.
And Italian Luca Badoer moved onto Fiorano where he worked on aerodynamic and mechanical work in preparation for Ferrari's first experience on the Indianapolis circuit in the United States Grand Prix next weekend.
