Testing round-up

Italian Jarno Trulli put his feud with Briton Jenson Button behind him as he topped the times in the opening day of testing at Silverstone on Wednesday.

Trulli powered his Jordan to a lap time of one minute and 28.34 seconds despite testing parts for the 2001 chassis.

Ulsterman Eddie Irvine was second quickest in his Jaguar while British American Racing drivers Darren Manning and Patrick LeMarie completed the times.

At Estoril, Button tested alone in his BMW-Williams and admitted that his session at the Portuguese circuit was a little strange after the United States Grand Prix at the weekend.

"After the euphoria and intensity of the US Grand Prix, it's a little bit weird to be driving around a circuit with no other cars present," Button said.

"Today has been a productive day and it is obviously very important that we make the most of the remaining two races and that means getting more points."

Meanwhile, Ferrari test driver Luca Badoer was also along in testing at Fiorano and the Italian performed a series of tire tests on an artificially watered track.

And Prost test driver Stephane Sarrazin was in action at Mangy-Cours, performing 147 laps of the circuit in changeable weather conditions as the team ran a problem-free session.Testing times from Silverstone on Wednesday:

POS DRIVER ENTRANT TIME
Jarno Trulli Jordan 1:28.34
Eddie Irvine Jaguar 1:28.48
Darren Manning BAR 1:29.01
Patrick LeMarie BAR 1:30.85
