Testing continues at Valencia
Testing resumed Tuesday at Valencia, and teams who tested for Michelin on an artificially soaked track Monday were joined by the likes of Jordan, Minardi and Toyota.
The McLarens of David Coulthard and Kimi Raikkonen topped the time sheet on Tuesday, followed by Juan-Pablo Montoya, who suffered car problems when his Williams FW23 caught fire. Montoya was unhurt, and, Despite the problem, completed 42 useful laps of the Spanish circuit. The Colombian was joined by new Williams test driver, Brazilian Antonio Pizzonia, who completed 38 laps for the BMW-powered team.
Jordan joined the others in Valencia Tuesday, with Giancarlo Fisichella and Takuma Sato the only drivers on Bridgestone tires.
Mika Salo began testing for Toyota Tuesday, as did Minardi driver Alex Yoong, and young Italian Matteo Bobbi. For Bobbi, it was his Formula One debut.
