The teams wrapping up testing at the Valencia circuit in Spain were again greeted by wet weather conditions on Friday.

THE teams wrapping up testing at the Valencia circuit in Spain were again greeted by wet weather conditions on Friday. Renault driver Jarno Trulli set the fastest lap of the day, while working on control system development and testing some new engine modifications for the French team. Trulli was joined on Friday by team test driver Fernando Alonso, who was third fastest on the day.

"A good day to complete our testing," said Renault's Mike Gascoyne. "Jarno worked well, which his lap time shows, while Fernando ran very competitively during the afternoon. Overall, our work in Valencia has been extremely productive, and we have reason to be optimistic for Austria."

Alexander Wurz and Kimi Raikkonen wrapped up McLaren's test program Friday. Wurz set the second fastest lap of the day, while completing 59, while Raikkonen was sixth fastest after 40 laps.

Juan Montoya worked for Williams-BMW, for their fourth and final day at Valencia. "At the Valencia test we concentrated on tire testing and various mechanical and aero components for upcoming races such as Monaco," said Sam Michael. We also had some time to spend on wet and intermediate set-ups due to occasional bad weather."

Jaguar ended their thee days in Spain with Pedro De la Rosa and Eddie Irvine, again concentrating on general setup. The Jaguar boys have also been working around the clock at the team's new wind tunnel to sort out the aerodynamic problems that have plagued the R3 so far in 2002.
