Teams wrap up testing in Jerez

The teams testing at the Jerez circuit in Spain this week wrapped up their week Friday, and will now prepare the equipment for next weekend's European GP.

HE teams testing at the Jerez circuit in Spain this week wrapped up their week Friday, and will now prepare the equipment for next weekend's European GP.

McLaren continued to set the pace at Jerez. Friday it was David Coulthard setting the fastest lap while completing a tire program for Michelin, and teammate Alexander Wurz was second fastest while concentrating on suspension set-up on the MP4/17.

Renault continued its work on their traction control system with Jarno Trulli and Fernando Alonso. The two also completed some tire testing for Michelin.

Luciano Burti wrapped up his week of tire testing for Bridgestone in the Ferrari F2001. The Brazilian completed 96 laps Friday, finishing 4th fastest.

Juan Montoya was able to complete 63 laps for Williams-BMW Friday. The Colombian was unable to complete any laps Thursday, after his engine gave out just after his installation lap.

Toyota's Ryan Briscoe had a high-speed scare when he lost control of his car late in the day. The Australian ran onto the grass and clipped a barrier, but emerged unhurt.

Eddie Irvine wrapped up Jaguar's week of testing, as did Patrick Lemarie for BAR-Honda.
