YOU have to feel sorry for International Formula 3000 champion Justin Wilson. The lanky Yorkshireman showed his pace last year with a series of dominant displays and yet has failed to attract any major attention from the F1 teams, while his rivals Mark Webber and Tomas Enge have both turned their performances into chances in F1. Although Enge is returning to F3000 this year to lead the Arden team, Webber has landed the number one drive at Minardi.

Wilson has also seen Felipe Massa, winner of the European F3000 title leap in to a drive at Sauber and Takuma Sato, the British F3 Champion, leap-frog him to grab the second seat at Jordan. Wilson is hoping that someone will sign him up as a test driver but if that fails he wants to go to the United States to race in CART. Having said that the field has reduced in numbers recently and Wilson may struggle to get a seat in CART.
