Steve Clark moves to McLaren

Steve Clark, a engineer with over 10 years experience with a variety of different teams in Formula 1 and in CART, has joined McLaren to take up a new role as a leading test team engineer.

STEVE CLARK, a engineer with over 10 years experience with a variety of different teams in Formula 1 and in CART, has joined McLaren to take up a new role as a leading test team engineer. Originally hired by Lotus's Frank Dernie in the late 1980s, Clark moved with Dernie to Ligier in 1991 and became the race engineer for Erik Comas. He stayed with Ligier becoming Olivier Panis's engineer in 1994 and 1995 but them moved to Arrows in 1996 and worked with Pedro Diniz. In 1998 he went to the United States as engineer for Alex Zanardi with Target Chip Ganassi Racing but then returned to Europe to work with Johnny Herbert at Sauber in 1999. Since 2000 he has been in the United States engineering with PacWest Racing.
