Special party arranged to help Watkins' charity
FORMULA ONE ringmaster Bernie Ecclestone has given his backing to a special Formula One party that will act as a curtain-raiser to the new season and will help FIA medical delegate Sid Watkins' charity - Brain and Spine Foundation.
The party is scheduled to take place on February 12, at London's Albert Hall and both FIA vice-president Ecclestone and Watkins hope to attract all Formula One drivers for the event.
"I think the idea of having a Grand Prix party is brilliant," said Watkins. "With the backing of Bernie Ecclestone and the drivers it should be a wonderful event. The money raised will help our patients and families."
The event will provide an opportunity for the general public to mingle with Formula One drivers past and present and Ecclestone is in full support.
He said: "The Grand Prix party will be a curtain raiser to the new season. Grand Prix racing has reached new heights in the last decade and, after the excitement of 2000, Formula One onlookers are already looking forward to another year of excitement."
