Soggy times at Silverstone

ONE Benetton B199 came back from testing in Barcelona at the start of last week and another went off to test at Silverstone. The Spanish test had been left to Giancarlo Fisichella and so the work at Silverstone was given to Alexander Wurz.

ONE Benetton B199 came back from testing in Barcelona at the start of last week and another went off to test at Silverstone. The Spanish test had been left to Giancarlo Fisichella and so the work at Silverstone was given to AlexanderÊWurz. Poor weather at the Northamptonshire track made life difficult but the Austrian completed 50 laps of the track with a best of 1m27.400s.

Arrows also ran at the test with Mika Salo doing 51 laps over two days with a best of 1m28.40s. This was mostly development running and did not allow the Finn to go for times. Tora Takagi did 26 laps on the first day to record a lap of 1m27.841s while Pedro de la Rosa completed only four laps on the second day.

There will be some shakedown testing at Silverstone in the next couple of days but the team's freight has to be delivered to airports on Wednesday evening.
