Schumacher to enter hospital for leg op

TRIPLE WORLD CHAMPION Michael Schumacher will enter hospital this week to have an operation to remove a pin from his leg.

German Schumacher, who ended Ferrari's 21-year wait for a drivers' championship, will have the pin, which was inserted into his leg following his horrific crash in the 1999 British Grand Prix, removed in a Geneva hospital this week.

Schumacher will miss out on testing with Ferrari, which begins next month, and will not take part in the 2001 preparations until January. Team-mate's Rubens Barrichello and Luca Badoer will test in his absence.
