FERRARI's Michael Schumacher ran into problems on his second day of testing at Mugello on Saturday when the second F2001 chassis suffered engine trouble.

Schumacher was forced to coast back into the pits after his installation lap and an engine change cost him three hours of running time at the Italian circuit.

The German driver, who was joined by Sauber's Kimi Raikkonen, posted a quickest lap time of one minute and 23.780 seconds from the 45 laps he covered.

"I am very happy with what we did today," Schumacher said. "Despite the one stoppage, the results of the work we did were satisfying."

Schumacher worked on further development work on the F2001 and tried a variety of set-ups.

Finn Raikkonen took the opportunity to get more miles under his belt as he prepares for his Formula One debut in Australia in two weeks. He completed 40 laps with a best time of one minute and 24.218 seconds.
