Schumacher backs Button move
RALF SCHUMACHER has supported Jenson Button's decision to make a loan move from BMW-Williams to Benetton.
Schumacher, who is in his second season with Williams, believes Button will benefit from the two-year deal to race with Renault-powered Benetton in 2001 and 2002.
"Jenson has been good this year, for me and for the team, because he is so enthusiastic and he is genuinely quick," said Schumacher.
"I enjoyed him being here. He has obviously been a success. I think he will keep getting better and Benetton will benefit from that."
Schumacher does not know who will partner him for the next two years, with the team set to make an announcement at the United States Grand Prix in September.
Champ Car driver Juan Pablo Montoya is expected to take Button's place, but Schumacher is not concerned who his team-mate will be as he focuses on his own career in Formula One.
He added: "My attitude doesn't change. I want to be part of the team, to race well, to win races and to be successful.
"That is the plan and the ambition and I want to make sure it works. Of course, I want to have some fun, too. And, you know, Williams is a great team on the inside, full of good people and everyone wants to enjoy life properly - and get results. We are all completely focussed."
