Renault announces Driver Development program

Renault has announced plans to help the careers of various young drivers in the years ahead and has selected Eric Salignon (France), Robert Kubica (Poland), Fabio Carbone (Brazil) and Carlo Van Dam (Holland) as its chosen drivers. The four drivers are at different stages of their F1 careers.

RENAULT has announced plans to help the careers of various young drivers in the years ahead and has selected Eric Salignon (France), Robert Kubica (Poland), Fabio Carbone (Brazil) and Carlo Van Dam (Holland) as its chosen drivers. The four drivers are at different stages of their F1 careers. The Renault deal is a rather odd one as the program is being run by Bruno Michel, who runs Renault F1 boss Flavio Briatore's private driver manager business. It is not known whether all of the young drivers will be managed by this company but we hear that at least one of them is under contract to the business. As a means of making money the scheme makes a lot of sense for Briatore as Renault will be paying the bills to promote drivers for Flavio...
