Team principal Christian Horner, who has worked with Infiniti since the beginning of 2011, said: "Infiniti has demonstrated significant technical prowess and I've been very impressed by the depth of the wider engineering capabilities of the Nissan Motor Company (which owns the Infiniti brand)."

Chief technical officer Adrian Newey added: "Having a great technical partner like Infiniti gives us a great platform for working together on teechnical projects, such as Energy Recovery Systems for 2014."

The influence of energy recovery systems will become much more significant under F1's 2014 regulations.

Infiniti president Johan de Nysschen said: "While our first 24 months have been very beneficial to both parties, our new increased relationship will bring increased advantages to Infiniti and Red Bull."
