Raikkonen's Sauber deal not yet done

YOUNG Finn Kimi Raikkonen is not yet a Sauber driver, his manager Steve Robertson said on Wednesday.

YOUNG Finn Kimi Raikkonen is not yet a Sauber driver, his manager Steve Robertson said on Wednesday.

Reports had suggested that team-boss Peter Sauber was ready to announce the British Formula Renault Champion as his second driver for 2001 along with Nick Heidfeld.

But Robertson, whose father David manages Briton Jenson Button, revealed that the decision over Raikkonen will be made by the shareholders of the Swiss team, although he did admit that a number of board members want the youngster to be appointed.

"We've been told it's an internal decision and they'll tell is when it's been made," Robertson said. "Then we will be able to tell everybody.

"We know there are people within the team pulling for Kimi, but we're no further down the line as regards to signing."
