Prost kills comeback rumors

ALAIN PROST has quickly silenced rumors which were suggesting that the 40-year-old Frenchman might be considering making a return to F1 as a McLaren driver.

ALAIN PROST has quickly silenced rumors which were suggesting that the 40-year-old Frenchman might be considering making a return to F1 as a McLaren driver.

After Ayrton Senna was killed in May, 1994, Prost said that he would never race in F1 again as a mark of respect for his greatest rival, and he says he is not planning to go back on that promise. "I may return to work in F1 is some capacity," he says, "but not as a driver again."

It is thought likely that Prost will eventually get into F1 with his own team, but this is not likely to be until 1998 at the earliest.
