Priestley seriously injured in Kentucky shunt

Jason Priestley, the actor and F1 commentator at last year's United States Grand Prix at Indianapolis has been seriously injured in a practice crash for the Infiniti Pro Series race at the Kentucky Speedway.

Jason Priestley, the actor and F1 commentator at last year's United States Grand Prix at Indianapolis has been seriously injured in a practice crash for the Infiniti Pro Series race at the Kentucky Speedway. Priestley was made famous by his appearances in the hit TV series "Beverly Hills 90210". Priestley began racing in 1991 and after a period in rallying moved to circuit racing with saloon and sportscars. He joined Kelley Racing's new IPS team this year and has done well to date, finishing second at the Kansas Speedway recently.

Priestley crashed heavily in Turn Two and was taken by ambulance to the circuit medical center from where he was flown by helicopter to the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington. It is not yet clear what injuries he has suffered.
