The news that Antonio Pizzonia will switch to Jaguar Racing next year has opened the way for Williams to sign up a second test driver and the team is planning to have a look at a number of youngsters in the weeks ahead.

One of these is Vitantonio Liuzzi and it is believed that another will be Formula 3000 racer Giorgio Pantano. Pantano has been a frontrunner in this year's F3000 championship with Enzo Coloni Racing and would now like to break into F1 as a test driver. He has already had a couple of F1 tests in his career but the Williams deal seems like his best opportunity to date. Pantano is also believed to be talking to a number of CART teams about a drive for next season if nothing comes up in F1.

There are believed to be a couple of other drivers who could also be seen in the Williams-BMWs before the end of the year but it is not yet clear who they may be.
